Anaesthesiology research

The research interests of Christoph Czarnetzki are particularly focused on neuromuscular blocking agents and neuromuscular monitoring, pharmacological studies on dexamethasone for postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV), genetics of PONV, and erythromycin for gastric emptying in emergency patients. Several studies related to sugammadex, rocuronium, neuromuscular monitoring and dexamethasone have recently been published and are available online for free.

Funding

To date, Christoph has contributed to raising in more than 1.2 million Swiss francs in research grants (competitive and non-competitive), including the funding of projects by the Swiss National Science Foundation (under the lead of Prof. Tramèr, Head fo the Division of Anaesthesiology at Geneva University Hospitals) and the Institutional Fund of the Division of Anaesthesiology of the Regional Hospital of Lugano.
